Holy war over health care law? Obama angers Catholic leaders

This is not just a Catholic issue. It's a freedom of religion issue and it is a VERY DANGEROUS precedent! It goes completely against what America is all about!

If this stands, the consequences to every other faith will be devastating. You will have the government dictating how you practice your faith, and THAT is why people came to America in the first place - to get away from government run religion. 

 Of course, they have that in China and many Islamic countries...
 

While President Obama will deliver another speech on the economy Wednesday in Northern Virginia to keep the focus on jobs, Catholic leaders across the country are warning another issue may blow up in his face come November.

Catholics are fired up over new rules implementing Obama's health care reform law forcing Catholic universities, hospitals, and charities to provide insurance for their employees covering contraception -- even though that violates church teachings.

"When you push people of faith and you tell them the government is going to knock down the wall of separation of church and state and overreach like the Obama administration, you've got a war on your hands," Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, told Fox News.

In an extraordinary move this past weekend, New York Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan and other archbishops throughout the nation had their priests read letters denouncing the Obama administration policy from the pulpit at Sunday Mass.

Komen to Stop Grants to Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz - LifeNews.com

After years of protests and criticism from pro-life advocates, the biggest breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has announced it is halting further grants and donations to the Planned Parenthood.

Figures from August directly from the Komen for the Cure foundation show 18 affiliates of the breast cancer charity gave a total of more than $569,000 to the Planned Parenthood abortion business in 2010. That was down from the $731,303 Komen officials publicly confirmed in October 2010, when they acknowledged that 20 of the 122 Komen affiliates gave to Planned Parenthood during the 2009 fiscal year.

Now, Komen says it is halting all grants because of public pressure from pro-life groups and due to the impending investigation in Congress of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

The policy makes it so no further Planned Parenthood grants will be given unless the investigation results in Planned Parenthood’s favor.

Arizona governor signs bill to authorize state guard - AP via ABC15

Good for Governor Brewer! States have the right to protect their borders and populations - especially if the federal government refuses to enforce federal laws.

PHOENIX - Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill authorizing creation of a state guard.

That's a militia force that could be mobilized if the National Guard is unavailable or "for any reason" considered necessary by the governor.

Wow. This is scary stuff.. Major kudos to Fr. Monk for speaking the truth, supporting the first amendment and standing his ground. Kudos, also, to the council member who walked out in protest of the strong arm methods of the rest of the council. This is AMERICA!!! And we, as citizens, have EVERY RIGHT to speak our minds to our ELECTED officials! If we have a complaint about government, it is not only our right but our DUTY to address it. The council, in this case, is gravely in the wrong and should be held accountable. I would further submit that the police officers involved should be reprimanded - they took an oath to support, protect and defend the constitution of the United States. They did NOT perform their duty in this regard.

Has Barack Obama learned nothing in three years? Last night, during his State of the Union address, he promised "a blueprint for an economy." But economies are crushed by blueprints. An economy is really nothing more than people participating in an unfathomably complex spontaneous network of exchanges aimed at improving their material circumstances. It can't even be diagrammed, much less planned. And any attempt at it will come to grief.

Politicians like Obama believe they are the best judges of how we should conduct our lives. Of course a word like "blueprint" would occur to the president. He, like most who want his job, aspires to be the architect of a new society.

OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving..

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to
provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green...'

Occupy the Anthill stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the SEIU group singing, We shall overcome.

ThenRev. Jeremiah Wright  has the group kneel down to pray for thegrasshopper's sake,
while he damns the ants.
 

President Obama condems the ant and blames President Bush 43, President Bush 41, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight..

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading  friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be theant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopperdoesn't  maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken
over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood.

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.

MORAL OF THE STORY:


Be careful how you vote in 2012.



If you are an ant not a grasshopper make sure that you pass this on to other ants.

Don't bother sending it on to any grasshoppers because they wouldn't understand it, anyway...

Rep Cliff Stearns: "Solyndra Caught On Tape Destroying Assets, Equipment"

Not only has Solyndra gone bankrupt leaving us to foot the bill, they are now junking a lot of what's left making it impossible for us to recover a lot of what's owed. 

The news anchor says "...a couple of million dollars worth of glass tubes is really not going to make a difference to them or the American tax payer."

Well, it might make a difference to the German company that made them and then sold them to Solyndra, and and is still owed 8 million dollars for them (understanding that they will probably be covered by you and me.) As Bary Goldwater once said, "A few billion here, a few billion there and pretty soon your talking about real money."

And how eager will companies be to extend credit to US "Green" companies if they think they won't be paid back? What will that do to the green energy companies of "tomorrow"? 

And how eager should the American Taxpayer be to guaranty those loans?

Ulsterman: What do you mean by we - we are preparing for it? And are you actually saying that Barack Obama would push for race riots to somehow win a presidential election? That sounds -- far fetched. Even for this administration.

Insider: Does it? How so? You need to take step back and see more of what has been happening in this country. It's why this thing went from a concern about the party to a serious concern about the country. Why aren't you seeing that?

Ulsterman: Just explain - the race rioting. I don't see how that would help Obama get re-elected. It doesn't -- I just don't see how that would work. In fact it seems like just the opposite. If we go from economic chaos to -- whatever one would call it - racial chaos -- that doesn't help Obama. So yeah - I don't see what you are saying there.

Insider: (Leans back - folds arms across chest) You and too many goddamn Americans don't see it so don't feel so bad. You know, other world leaders see it. Putin. Sarkozy. Merkel. Harper -- Barack Obama is incapable of anything remotely resembling leadership, but he is also quite capable of the kind of dangerous arrogance that the very worst leaders in history possessed. (Pauses) Look, let me try and paint a picture for you - a clearer picture of what Obama really is. If you were to step into the White House and see the man at work, or whatever the hell it is he calls it. It's not the same as what some of his own people are calling it - I know that for certain. The jokes, the sneers that go on behind the president's back. You want to see that picture? The real Barack Obama? Maybe then you might understand what the man is capable of - really capable of.

Col. West on Muslim Terrorism

Two Black Americans were elected to congress this cycle, and both are Republican. Col. West is from southern Florida . He won in a walk. This new Congressman was an extremely popular commander in Iraq . He was forced to retire because during an intense combat action a few of his men were captured. At the same time his men captured one of the guys who were with the Iraqis who captured his men. Knowing that time was crucial and his interrogators were not getting anywhere with the prisoner, Col. West took matters into his own hands. He burst into the room and demanded thru an interpreter that the prisoner tell him where his men were being taken. The prisoner refused so Col. West took out his pistol and placed it into the prisoner's crotch and fired. Then the Col. told the prisoner that the next shot would not miss. So the prisoner said he would show where the American service members were being taken. The Americans were rescued. Someone filed a report on incorrect handling of prisoners. Col. West was forced to retire. Col. West was just elected in November 2010 to Congress from Florida . During the elections he was part of a panel on how to handle or how to relate to Muslims. Holder's hysterical claim that voting rights are at risk due to voter ID laws

You have to show ID (if you look young) to buy liquor. 
You have to show ID to prove you qualify for the senior discount at the movies.
You have to show ID when you write a check.
You have to show ID when you join the military.
In some businesses, you have to show ID to get to work.
You have to show ID to get a library card.
You have to show ID to rent a car.
You have to show ID to buy insurance.
You have to show ID when you use a notary public.
You have to show ID when you fly.


So why shouldn't you have to show ID when you are helping determine the future of the nation?

AG Eric Holder is trying to compare the time when forcing African Americans to pay a poll tax, or answer obscure questions about the Georgia constitution - common tactics to deny blacks the right to vote 50 years ago - to voter ID laws today.

And that same press has even found lots of unproven, stuff to present against Herman Cain, but. . . .

Now, Barack Hussein Obama has been in office for almost three years, yet this very same press:

� Or find any of Obama's high school or college classmates;

� Or locate any of his college papers or grades;

� Or determine how he paid for both a Columbia and a Harvard education;

� Or discover which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's;

� Or find the truth that he is eligible for the Office of President of the United States

� Or even find Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.

They just can't seem to uncover any of this!

Yet, some of the public still trust that same press to give them the whole truth!

Personally, I think that two people only slightly out-dull the rest of the field - Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano.  Of course, their appointments reflect the mindset of the one who hired them in the first place...

She grants our enemies access to our classified and secret information and it doesn't seem to bother her.. Perhaps 'her' enemies are not the enemies of this country. 

At the very least, she is incompetent and needs to find something else to do with her time. She certainly isn't very good at protecting America...

It's a slow day in the small town of Pumphandle and the streets are deserted.
Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody is living on credit.

A tourist visiting the area drives through town, stops at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the desk.
He wants to inspect the rooms upstairs to pick one for the night.

As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to
the butcher.

(Stay with this.....and pay attention)

The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer.

The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his supplier, the Co-op.

The guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute,
who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit.

The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner.

The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the traveler will not suspect anything
At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, states that the rooms are not satisfactory,
picks up the $100 bill and leaves.

No one produced anything. No one earned anything.
However, the whole town now thinks that they are out of debt and there is a false atmosphere of optimism and glee.

And that, my friends, is how a government "stimulus package" works!

Can you imagine not being able to fire someone who stole from you? Or attacked you physically? Or raped your daughter? Or your son?

Or what if you couldn't fire your pool guy or your gardener or your babysitter because they did a lousy job? Or just because you couldn't afford them any longer?

How about not being able to fire an insurance company that provides you with awful service?

Earlier this week, Mitt Romney got into trouble for saying, "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me." To comprehend why the political class reacted as if Romney had just praised Hitler, you must understand that his critics live in a world in which no one can ever be fired -- a world known as "the government."

(And a tip for you Washington types: Just because a person became rich without working for government doesn't mean he is "Wall Street." A venture capital firm in Boston that tries to rescue businesses headed for bankruptcy, for example, is not "Wall Street.")

Romney's statement about being able to fire people was an arrow directed straight to the heart of Obamacare. (By the way, arrows to the heart are not covered by Obamacare.)

Talking about insurance providers, he said:

"I want individuals to have their own insurance. That means the insurance company will have an incentive to keep you healthy. It also means if you don't like what they do, you can fire them. I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. You know, if someone doesn't give me a good service that I need, I want to say I'm going to go get someone else to provide that service to me."

Newt Rips Media For Bias & Bigotry Against the Church

Breast Cancer Surgeon Explains How Abortion Elevates Cancer Risk for Women – LifeNews.com

As breast cancer awareness month winds down, one leading breast cancer surgeon and professor has written an explanation of one of the risks women need to keep in mind when talking with friends and family about the deadly disease — abortion.

Dr. Angela Lanfranchi is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.

She is a surgeon who, as the co-director of the Sanofi-aventis Breast Care Program at the Steeplechase Cancer Center, has treated countless women facing a breast cancer diagnosis. Lanfranchi was named a 2010 Castle Connolly NY Metro Area “Top Doc” in breast surgery.

In an article she wrote for the medical journal Linacre Quarterly, Lanfranchi talks about why abortion presents women problems and increases their breast cancer risk: A growing amount of evidence from quality studies suggests that induced abortion, but not spontaneous abortion or miscarriage, increases risk of breast cancer.

Induced abortion boosts breast cancer risk because it stops the normal physiological changes in the breast that occur during a full term pregnancy and that lower a mother’s breast cancer risk. A woman who has a full term pregnancy at 20 has a 90% lower risk of breast cancer than a woman who waits until age 30.

As soon as a woman conceives, the embryo secretes human chorionic gonadotrophin or hCG, the hormone we check for in pregnancy tests.

By the end of her pregnancy, 85% of her breast tissue is cancer resistant. Each pregnancy thereafter decreases her risk a further 10%.

Cigarette smoke is a carcinogen. While only 15% of cigarette smokers get lung cancer, the risk has been well acknowledged. In comparison, induced abortion as a risk factor for breast cancer is somehow not as widely publicized.

nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to

from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships;

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included
Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French
Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large
group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a
French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many
languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that
we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than
speaking French?"

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the
Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't
have to speak German."

You could have heard a pin drop.

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport
in his carry on.

"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked
sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France
previously.

"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."

The American said,
"The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he
quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in
1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen
to show a passport to."

You could have heard a pin drop.
